Brexit – tariffs and the transition period

Are you importing or exporting goods? Do you know what will happen during the transition period (which BJ has said will not be extended beyond December 2020)? We know from discussion with various clients that this is causing much confusion and its not surprising.

There are generally no tariffs currently between the UK and the EU, so when do these start? The view is that they will only start when the transition period is over, and the effective date of tariffs will normally be the physical date goods move not an invoice or payment date.
